Live bossa nova and samba drumming: full-kit grooves, brush and cross-stick patterns, and groove-to-fill transitions, played by Ryan Shaw. Recorded on a 1960s Gretsch Round Badge kit through Neve 1073 preamps, AEA ribbons and Vanguard condensers, into Pro Tools. Warm, dry and organic, made to sit in a mix without heavy processing.
WHAT'S INSIDE
One download, the whole kit of parts. Full-kit loops to drop in and build on, no-kick tops so you can sit your own low end underneath, brush and cross-stick patterns, and groove-to-fill transitions to move between sections. All of it is Ryan live at the kit, with the natural push and pull that comes from playing it for real.

WHO PLAYED IT
DRUMS
Ryan is a Jazz drummer in Los Angeles. If you have heard the brushes on a Laufey record, that is this kind of playing. He is on her last three albums and most of her Christmas music, and his session work runs through Michael Bublé, Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Seth MacFarlane, and the Apple TV+ Peanuts scores. Bossa nova and brushes sit at the center of a lot of that work, so this pack is built from the real thing.
PRODUCER
Will is a producer and composer whose credits include Monogem, Graham Dechter, Kai Stevens, Sueñito, Bri Oglu and Ela Ozturk, across a range of genres. He and Ryan first played together on the Lineage record with Graham Dechter and Alex Frank. Will produced this pack and cut every loop clean, so it drops straight into your session.
